Cards
StarCards is built around different card types. The Daily Card anchors each day; the rest let you capture specific kinds of things. Every card type is part of StarCards — there are no tiers or add-ons.
Press c to jump to the Cards section from anywhere in the app, or n to open the New Card menu. From the menu you can press a number to create that type directly — the number is its position in your enabled card types. With everything enabled, the order is:
| Keyboard Shortcut | Card | What it's for |
|---|---|---|
| n then 1 | Daily | Your anchor for a single day — capture what happened, then branch other cards off it |
| n then 2 | Business | Store practical records — contacts, receipts, and subscriptions |
| n then 3 | Goal | Define something you're working toward and track progress |
| n then 4 | Inspiration | Hold something that sparked an idea, with a note on why it moved you |
| n then 5 | Media | Track what you're reading, watching, or listening to — and your take on it |
| n then 6 | Memory | Preserve a meaningful moment with a description, people, place, and date |
| n then 7 | Quote | Capture words worth remembering, with their author |
| n then 8 | Study | Turn a question into its answer, building a reviewable knowledge base |
| n then 9 | Topic | Group related thoughts and notes around a single subject |
If you've turned some card types off in Settings, the numbers shift to match your shorter list — Daily is always first.
Stat Cards (which the app labels StarStat cards) are generated automatically and are read-only — you don't create them yourself.
