Tags & Due Dates
Tags and due dates add extra structure on top of Star Lists. Tags are freeform labels for cross-cutting categories, while due dates keep time-sensitive work visible before it slips. Together they help surface what matters most.
Star Tags
A task can have multiple Star Tags — there's no fixed list, just whatever labels make sense for your workflow. Common examples: #waiting, #admin, #review, #blocked.
To add tags, open a task and tap the Star Tags field. Type a tag name and confirm. Tags work alongside Star Lists: a task belongs to one list but can carry as many tags as you need.
You can filter the Tasks view by tag to see all tasks sharing a label, regardless of which list they're in.
Note
Star Tags are shared across cards and tasks — they aren't tasks-only. The same tag can label both a card and a task, so tagging a task #review and a card #review ties them together under one label. On a card, Star Tags live on Point 3 (Related). This makes tags a single, cross-cutting vocabulary that spans your whole StarCards workspace.

Due Dates
Set a due date when a task needs to be completed by a specific day. Due dates appear on the task card in the Kanban board so you can see deadlines at a glance.
Overdue tasks are highlighted — if today's date is past the due date and the task is still in Do or Doing, the card is visually marked so it stands out.
To filter by due date, use the date filter in the Tasks view. This narrows the board to tasks due on or before the selected date.
Repeating Tasks
Repeating tasks auto-respawn when you mark them Did. Set the schedule when creating or editing a task:
| Schedule | Behavior |
|---|---|
| Daily | A new copy is created the next day |
| Weekly | A new copy is created one week later |
| Monthly | A new copy is created one month later |
| Yearly | A new copy is created one year later |
The new copy starts in Do with the same title, notes, priority, and tags. Its due date advances by the configured interval. This keeps recurring work on the board automatically without any manual re-entry.
Repeating tasks on a Daily Card still earn StarCatcher tickets when completed — the repeat behavior doesn't change that.
