Managing Tasks
Tasks in StarCards move through three states — Do → Doing → Did — in a Kanban board in the Tasks view. You can create tasks there directly, or attach them to a day by adding them to the Related Point on a Daily Card.
Creating a Task
There are two ways to create a task:
- From the Tasks view — tap the add button in the Do column. The new task appears there immediately.
- From a Daily Card — open the Related Point (R) on today's card and add a task. It will also appear in the Tasks view.
Task Fields
Each task has the following fields:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Title | Required. A short description of what needs doing. |
| Notes | Optional freeform text — context, links, or sub-steps. |
| Priority | Low / Medium / High / Urgent. Determines sort order within each column. |
| Due Date | Optional. Sets a deadline; overdue tasks are highlighted. |
| Star List | Assigns the task to a named group (see Star Lists). |
| Star Tags | Freeform labels for cross-cutting categorization. The same tags are shared with cards (see Tags & Due Dates). |
| Comments | A per-task discussion thread for notes and follow-ups (see below). |
The Kanban Board
The Tasks view is a three-column board: Do, Doing, and Did. Tasks in each column are sorted by priority, with Urgent at the top and Low at the bottom.
Drag a task card to move it between columns, or tap the task and change its status in the detail view.
Completed tasks (Did) also appear in a flat Completed list below the board.

Comments
Each task has its own Comments thread — a running discussion and notes log that lives with the task. Open a task and add a comment to capture progress updates, decisions, or follow-up questions without cluttering the Notes field. Comments stay attached to the task as it moves across the board.
Daily Cards and StarCatcher Tickets
Tasks added to a Daily Card are connected to the broader task system. When you mark one Did, it counts toward that day's card. Each completed task on a Daily Card earns one StarCatcher game ticket — up to five tickets per day.
Repeating Tasks
A task can be set to repeat on a schedule (Daily, Weekly, Monthly, or Yearly). When you mark a repeating task Did, a fresh copy is automatically created for the next cycle — so you never have to re-enter recurring work. See Tags & Due Dates for the full repeat behavior.
Archiving Tasks
Tasks that are no longer needed can be archived. Archived tasks are removed from the board and the Completed list but remain in your data.
Next Steps
- Group tasks by project or life area with Star Lists.
- Add cross-cutting labels and deadlines with Tags & Due Dates.
