Topic Card
A topic card groups related thoughts and notes around a single subject. The title comes from the theme, and connected ideas grow underneath it. Start one for "Sourdough baking" and let it gather hydration ratios, starter feeding, and crust tips as you learn them — one place that fills in over time.
How to Create
Press n to open the New Card menu, or the number key matching Topic's position in your enabled card types (typically 9).
- Tap New Card from anywhere in the app.
- Choose Topic from the card type list.
- Give it a title that names the subject the card is built around.
- Set the topic, optionally label a sub-type, and start gathering notes in the Topic point.
The Topic Point
The Related point (Point 3) on a topic card has three fields:
- Topic — The subject name, the theme the card is built around.
- Sub-type — An optional free-form label you type yourself, like "Framework", "Psychology", or "Applications". The app autocompletes from labels you've used before — it's not a fixed list.
- Notes — The connected thoughts and notes that grow under the topic.

Tips
- Pick a sub-type vocabulary. Reuse the same labels across cards so autocomplete stays useful and your topics stay sortable.
- One card per subject. Keep a single card per theme and let the notes accumulate, rather than starting a new card each time.
- Group related topics with Decks. Assign topic cards to a Deck (Point 4) to gather a whole area of interest together.
- Best for ongoing subjects. Topic cards shine for themes you'll return to. For a one-off thought, a quicker card type may fit better.
