STAR Features
Beyond the daily card itself, StarCards is organized into four feature areas that spell STAR — a quick way to remember what the app does. (For the anatomy of a single card, see the CARDS points in Filling Your Card.)
S — Stats
Baseball-inspired stats that track your journaling streaks and performance over time. See Stats.
- Streaks — your run of consecutive days with a login and a collected Daily Card.
- Series — the tracking periods the app generates (daily, weekly, monthly, seasonal, yearly); each one closes and produces a Stat Card.
- Stat Cards — read-only snapshots of your stats (the app calls them StarStat cards). StarCards creates these automatically; they can't be edited.
Your headline number across all of this is RAD (Radiance), a 0–100 score — see the Glossary.
T — Tasks & Timer
A full task-management system with an integrated Pomodoro timer. See Tasks and Timer.
Tasks have:
- Statuses: Do, Doing, Did
- Priorities: Low, Medium, High, Urgent
- Optional due dates and repeat schedules (daily, weekly, monthly, yearly)
- Star Tags for organization (shared with cards) and Star Lists for grouping
Pomodoro timer — each task can be worked in focused 25-minute sessions. The timer tracks attempted and completed sessions per task. See Timer.
Tasks can live on cards (a Daily Card's tasks appear on its Related point) or be managed independently in the Tasks view.
A — Archive
Set cards and tasks aside without deleting them — still searchable, filterable, and restorable. See Archive.
- Search archived cards by title; filter by Deck, card type, and date range.
- Filter archived tasks by priority and Star List.
- Nothing is lost — the Archive is your record of growth, and anything can be restored.
R — Decks
A system for organizing cards into named collections. See Decks.
- A Deck is a named group of cards (e.g.
daily,work,reading). - Cards are assigned to Decks via Point 4 (Decks).
- Two system Decks are created automatically and can't be deleted: Daily (every daily card) and StarStats (every Stat Card). Memory cards are also auto-added to a Memory Lane Deck.
- Browse a Deck to see all its cards over time. See Managing Decks.
Decks are distinct from Star Tags — shared freeform labels that apply across both cards and tasks. On a card, Star Tags live on Point 3 (Related). See the Glossary if these terms blur together.
