Planets
Every StarCatcher pitcher comes from a different planet, and each planet has its own personality — distinct pitch behavior, velocity characteristics, and its own twist on how a game plays out. Learning a planet's tendencies is a key part of improving your game.
The Planet Mechanic
When a game begins, the pitcher is assigned to a planet. That planet determines how the four standard pitch types behave — speed, movement, and predictability all shift depending on where the pitcher is from. No two planets play quite the same.

Standard Pitch Types
All planets share four pitch types as the foundation of every game:
- Fastball — high velocity, direct path
- Curveball — drops late, harder to read
- Slider — cuts sideways as it arrives
- Knuckleball — unpredictable movement, low velocity
The behavior of each pitch varies by planet. A Fastball from one world may behave very differently from a Fastball thrown by a pitcher from another.
Planet Variety
Beyond how the standard pitches behave, each planet brings its own flavor to a game — small differences in feel and challenge that keep things fresh as you face pitchers from across the galaxy. If you haven't seen a pitcher from a particular planet before, expect a few surprises. Winning the Tell Phase gives you hints that help you read whatever's coming.
Ace Mode
Ace Mode is a difficulty toggle available in your profile settings. Turning it on increases velocity and makes pitch behavior less predictable across all planets. Ace Mode is recommended once you're comfortable with the standard flow — use Practice Mode to get ready before switching it on.
